Così,dieci anni sono volati,da quando aprì i battenti il Manera,per decisione di & Ely,ovvero Thelma & Luise in versione Walser.Le due amiche e socie,infatti,toste capatoste intraprendenti,ebbero lì per lì la fortunata idea di dar vita ad un locale,di ritorno dalla loro ennesima scorreria "on the road".Un pò come "la bionda e la mora",le due ragazze,carismatiche,trascinavano già da tempo gruppi grandissimi di amici in fantasiose e numerose feste a tema.Perchè allora non fare di questo passatempo una attività a tempo pieno? Detto fatto..o quasi! Perchè se non sempre tra il dire e il fare c'è il mare,a volte comunque c'è un fiume che scorre e ogni progetto nasce a poco a poco. Insomma, per far bene le cose e per dire bene le idee ci vuole ..."Manera", cioè , ci vuole misura,ci vuole calma. Comunque Patty & Ely han visto giusto e il loro fiuto da "streghe" valsesiane,i cui antenati sono venuti da oltre le montegne con le loro usanze secolari,non le ha ingannate. Il Manera dieci anni fà è stato il primo pub giovane di Scopello,subito caratterizzato da una avvincente impronta,da un'atmosfera unica. Manera è vicinissimo alle piste e agli impianti di sci di Mera,con uno spiazzo assai ampio per il parcheggio,che è stato anche teatro di tantissimi momenti belli e buffi, di bravate e di chiacchere sotto le stelle. Le grandi compagnie affiatate e festaiole,girovaghe e sportive , lo hanno eletto da subito "quartier generale" e rifugio ideale. Le feste ci sono sempre state,con tanta musica e una fole sempre numerosa. Si può far utto al Manera: si può ballare sui tavoli alla sera,con la musica "a palla" del deejay.... anzi la prima ad inaugurare questi balli è stata proprio la Patty insieme ai suoi amici! Dieci anni di storie sono tanti..come si fa a ricordarli tutti?Vengono in mente i ragazzi delle valle che si arrampicano sul tetto del Manera e da li fanno festa,ridono e gridano e brindano; oppure i gruppi di sciatori che scendono dalle piste bardati come astronauti e si riscaldano con la cioccolata,parlano del clima e dello sport; ancora ,la festa dei canoisti dopo la conclusione dei Mondiali di Canoa e Kayak, quando il Manera è diventato più poliglotta delle Nazioni Unite: atleti e atlete da tutta Europa e non solo,insieme a bere e flirtare,quasi fino all'alba. E' bello ricordare anche che il Manera ha visto storie d'amore nascere e crescere tra i suoi tavoli :oggi quelle persone che si conobbero tanti anni fa sono ancora insieme! E poi:le band rock,i motoraduni sotto le stelle,le miacce,i giochi. Tante persone,facce,smorfie,risate,idee,voglia di divertirsi,storie insieme,avventure e disavventure però quasi tutte a lieto fine per fortuna. Ci sono personaggi unici e introvabili altrove: come i "buscarin"-i boscaioli- sono due "giganti buoni",alti e robusti,con vocioni da orchi,magari un pò burberi ma in fondo timidi e a loro modo gentili e curiosi,con tanta voglia di fare due chiacchere e di bere in compagnia,dopo la giornata nel bosco. Ci viene in mente il goliardico "Comitato Ciocche Valsesiane",fondato da un gruppo di intraprendenti giovani scopellesi,con tanto di tessera e regolamento: se vi tesserate,avrete sempre corsia preferenziale al bancone del Manera,anche nei momenti di peggior pienone! Oggi,tutto nuovo e con la sua esperienza decennale,Manera si prepara ai suoi prossimi dieci anni. C'è la novità del ristorante,con menù fissi e possibilità di cene di compleanno (la torta è offerta !),cene di lavoro e affari,cene e feste a tema,ricorrenze,animazioni,feste. C'è la unione ancor più decisa con lo sport: la collaborazione di Polar Ski Rent, sarà possibile infatti vivere l'avventura della bobbata notturna:ritrovo sul piazzale del Manera per un aperitivo che dà la carica; salita a Mera,cena al ristorante Campetto e quindi folle discesa! Una atmosfera invernale unica,che porta il Manera un pò indietro nel tempo,come quando c'erano i cercatori d'oro nel Klondike,immersi nella neve ma sempre forti e vitali.Zanna Bianca qui è di casa,da dicembre a marzo.
